The Problem
"You do well... for a girl."
"Don't be so bossy."
"Why are you getting so emotional?"
"Don't wear that to school, you're gonna distract the boys!"
"How much did you have to drink that night?"
"Smile... you'd be much prettier."
"Are you like... a feminist?"
"Stop being so dramatic."
"You're crazy, is it that time of the month?"

The Solution
Change the conversation. Speak up! Let your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, colleagues and your community know that the future is female. Get ready to speak out against bullying, violence, harassment and dangerous stereotypes attempting to stifle girl power.

How You Can Help
Post an inspirational message, quote or video to girls who need a little extra love and support! Your message will be published on a #GirlPower Tumblr, a vision board we share with teens enrolled in our Dream It, Be It program.

Our Mission is a movement fiercely dedicated to ensuring every woman and girl has the opportunity to reach her full potential, live free from violence, and of course, live her dreams.

Our online community of nearly 100,000 volunteers and activists participate in actions to address some of the most serious challenges women and girls face today, such as  gender-based violence and lack of access to quality education.

This action network is powered by Soroptimist, a global nonprofit committed to economically improving the lives of disadvantaged women and girls. Activists and volunteers create impact through two life-changing programs leading to economic empowerment—Live Your Dream: Education & Training Awards for Women and
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls.
